When a powerful demon appeared in town, I didn't want to put Zoey and Mira in danger. I went to face it alone with my bright patterns but none of my attacks worked on it. Yet I sang everything. Golden, How It’s Done, even Takedown and nothing works.
As the demon throws me against a wall and I lose my breath, I hear a voice in my head.
“Rumi... Run away.”
It's Jinu. How?
“I can't... protect you. Run away before it's too late.”
Is it inside me? Just as the demon was about to strike me again, a strange crack appeared. From this crack a portal was created and from this portal emerged a man with white hair.
“He's... half demon too.”
The man tries to confront the demon but his attacks have no effect.
“It doesn't make sense.” He whispers, but I hear him thanks to Jinu. “I have the power. Why does Yamato refuse to cut through?”
“Rumi! I can feel his power. It is immense. Enough to defeat this brutish demon. But he cannot do it alone. You must sing into Yamato!”
“Jinu? But I... I don't know what to sing.”
Jinu's voice tells me to improvise. My voice was weak but I started singing.
♪ I sing within you, Yamato
May your power rise soon, arcato
This demon must fall tonight
Before we remain prisoners of fright! ♪
My voice makes Yamato shine and his bearer can defeat the demon effortlessly. I was about to ask him his name when he laughed softly at me. Then he disappeared into another portal.
I walked slowly back home. My body was still sore from the demon's attack. When Mira and Zoey saw me, they asked me what had happened.
"Well, Jinu is inside me. I can hear his voice in my head. I tried to fight a powerful demon but my attacks had no effect. My chant had no power then this man arrived from a portal. He had the power to kill the demon but his katana Yamato couldn't cut through it. So I chanted into Yamato, the man killed the demon then he disappeared into another portal."
After I told them everything, Mira and Zoey were angry with me. I wasn't allowed to go hunting without them. At least, that's what they believe. They ask me if I'm going to tell Celine about the mysterious man. My answer? Yes. I don't really have a choice. Especially if other demons like the one tonight appear. We have to find a way to defeat them on our own or find this man and ask for his help.
